Hello I’m Stacey!

Face by Stace was established in 2007, built on a foundation of beauty, editorial writing, and professional artistry. I trained at one of Toronto’s top makeup schools — Yorkville School of Makeup and Esthetics, later becoming the George Brown School of Makeup and Esthetics — where I earned my Professional Makeup Artistry certification, including formal training in hairstyling.

Technically, I am a makeup stylist, though most people refer to me as a certified professional makeup artist. Over the years, I’ve applied makeup for television, fashion, and editorial work, appeared on television myself, written internationally, been nominated as a writer, and worked as a published makeup artist. I’ve also applied makeup on celebrities and VIPs for television.

Face by Stace evolved quickly. In 2009, I launched an editorial, business‑oriented beauty blog that was later picked up by The Mississauga News in 2012 — something the editor told me was rare at the time, as newspapers weren’t taking on blogs, let alone beauty blogs. As an independent blog, Face by Stace generated over 400,000 organic views in under three years, with global cosmetic companies using my posts as promotional material.

During this period, I conducted a professional phone interview with Peter Nygard, which was re‑published in 2013. Shortly afterward, an American publisher reached out, offering what was meant to be a single article assignment. That one piece turned into writing for every consecutive issue of Cliché Magazine until early 2016, working alongside an editor who later became a Copy Manager for Nautica and Lucky Brand. I was also credited as a writer by the Editor‑in‑Chief at FSHN Magazine.

Today, Face by Stace continues to deliver what readers have always loved: product reviews, editorial beauty tips, beauty and health benefits through food and beauty recipes, beauty history, and fashion history. As a writer, I also share quarterly book recommendations.
